Title: How my son ends up going to college close to home
Post by: Yaobing on September 23, 2013, 08:15:22 pm
Today I took a day off from work because of Jason's college orientation at the University of Chicago.  He moved into his dorm yesterday and is now officially a college student.

About one and half years ago, he said he wanted to go to a college on the east coast.  "It is too boring to stay in the same city."  About one year ago, he had a change of heart.  "If UChicago admits me in Early Action, I will not even try applying to other schools in regular round."  That is the concise story of how he ended up close to home.

Less fossil fuels consumed and tighter closer bonds with family and friends will be a trend for the next hundred years.

Congratulations to Jason and his proud father, Yaobing.  It's a very happy day for both.

Congratulations, Yaobing and Jason! Living in a dorm is still quite a change from living at home.

Less fossil fuels consumed and tighter closer bonds with family and friends will be a trend for the next hundred years.

Congrats from me as well Yaobing.

Hopefully Jason gets to experience the time honored tradition of eating Mom and Dad's food each weekend :)

mojave - you do realize that the chart indicates that Oil Production is driven by Great Songs (rather than the other way around) ?   ;D  In fact, it indicates that Oil Production is driven by songs released five years previously...

All the best Yaobing to your family!  It was your great work in the early days on DVB-T that brought me to j.RiVerS

Thanks y'all.

Now that Jason is out of the house, I begin to appreciate more the fact that he is actually nearby.  He spent his entire school years at the University of Chicago Laboratory schools.  It is his comfort zone.

Have you converted his room to a home office yet?  Get on it, man!

No, I have not.  His sister is taking over the room, and we are forcing him to a smaller room in the house.
