Excuse if this is mentioned elsewhere, but will the audio-only MC19 run on any version of Linux, or is there some aspect of it that won't work with some versions ?
PS If you are trying to avoid getting business from the audiophile guys, you are doing a really bad job lately. ;D

It runs on Debian now. It should run on most others soon. It isn't clear how many flavors we'll need.
-
Do they vary in ways that would affect usage of MediaCenter ? Or is that not yet known ?
-
Fedora, please :) I'm going to be VERY excited at the prospect of running my JRiver server on Linux!

Each distribution pulls in its own kernel, set of libraries, patches, and then includes its own set of patches and files. So, until someone actually tests MC out on any given distro, nobody will know. I'm sure JRiver is also still working out the dependency list.
This is a long haul project, and the learning curve is great.

I am running Linux Mint Debian Edition. Will this new Linux Media Centre 19 run on this distro of Linux?
