Title: Real Media Files.
Post by: Hampstead on March 12, 2002, 12:44:04 am
I hate REAL. It takes over your machine, however, I would like to be able to listen to Real files using Media Jukebox - Is this possible?

This is possible,

Just install real and in the options of your real player remove all file associations.
In MJ's options, enable all real associtions.

This works well, next time a real file will be played in MJ (with the real in the background, you won't notice it)

Don't how to do it with other OS's but on Win98 I had to run msconfig and knock off a couple of programs that Real put into my startup files, in addition to changing the file associations.  After that everything was OK.

I'll give it a go. I have done similar in the past but Real always seems to work its way back in somehow.
Thanks though.
