Title: Music01 Private server
Post by: bennyd on March 11, 2002, 11:51:24 pm
When trying to connect to a private shared music01 server (from the same network), I get the following error message:

03/12/02 10:46:06 - ready for another connection
03/12/02 10:46:06 - private sharing thread started
03/12/02 10:46:06 - unknown header
03/12/02 10:46:06 - Connection header followed by unknown
03/12/02 10:46:06 - read_http_request failed: -1

I have Win2000 or WinXP and IE6.0

Any clues ?

It looks like it is going through a proxy server or something, though it should still work. What proxy server/firewall etc. are you using?

Found the bugS. It should be fixed in the next build. Just to make sure, are you using Squid proxy? Since X-Forded-For is Squid specific.

How do I tell which proxy I have ?
Is there a command I can type to check ?
I just put the proxy in there from my Provider.
And private sharing shouldn't use proxy ?
(I excluded all local addresses from the proxy settings)

Something strange happens nows: (I have build 226)

At home : WinXP, IE6

If I use my Proxy (proxy.pandora.be:8080) from my provider, I can download updates and plugins but no Music01 server public or private
If I use the proxy pac file provided by my provider (pac.pandora.be:8080), I can use music01 private and public but I cannot download any updates or plugins

At work : Win2000 IE6

If I use my proxy (proxy.expandedmedia.com:8080), I can download updates and plugins but no Music01 server public or private
If I use NO proxy, I can use Music01 private but no Downloads or Music01 public
I tried to use a proxy and exclude the address I try to connect to but this doesn't give any difference, I have to disable proxy before Music01 private works.

Any clues ?

bennyd,
Sorry.. the fixed Music01 Server did not made it to build 226. If you like, please send me an email (hftey@jriver.com) and I will reply with the fixed Music01 Server attached. Then try it to see whether it works in your proxy.
