Have got the auto shutdown/startup enabled for 00:00 and 08:00
Always fails to shutdown as mc19 failed to close and caused the mac to hang.
-
I'll 2nd the part about not letting the Mac shutdown due to failure to close.

Could you help me understand a little better?
Are you saying doing a system shutdown while MC is running is the problem, but it's fine if MC is not running? Does it matter if playback is stopped vs playing/paused?
Thanks.

In my case(s) if MC is simply up, although it does quit, it does not allow the OS to complete a normal shutdown.
This occurs when MC is not playing (as in, is stopped), this same behavior would be present, I would assume, if it were paused and if it were playing. I can test for these last 2 conditions if you'd like.

Ok, we'll test this on Monday thanks.

I think I'm able to reproduce this. The OS said 'MC has prevented the system from shutting down' when I had it running and tried to shut down.
-
That's the one…

So, what's the solution? I've placed a headless Mac Mini close to my audio system with only JRiver running. Is there a way to schedule a restart or shutdown and force the Mac Mini to do so, even when JRiver is running? Greeting, Wybe

I believe this is solved in MC19 Mac:
19.0.49 (10/2/2013)
3. Fixed: A running instance of Media Center would prevent OSX from shutting down.
