Is it possible to display some overlay badge over album art?
Badges (flags or icons) can be displayed from music tag.
XBMC skins can do this.
It is not just for eye candy, it can provide some visual information about albums.
I'm not a coder or a graphic designer, just a music-lover :P
Just quick concept here...

I like that.

I agree, looks nice.

Oh yes. +1

This is a slippery slope. If implemented, what's to stop all sorts of requests for other badges/icons that quickly and conveniently give us information about our media?
(+1, but am happy with things as they are now - this would be icing).
-
Yes it looks nice, and the color could blend like images do now in theaterview... But I agree, it could get out of control and messy.
(+1 none the less)

I'm reminded of the line from The Treasure of the Sierra Madre:
"Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges! I don't have to show you any stinkin' badges!"

Am I right in thinking that for this to work mc would base a badge assumption on the first file visible, as mc isn't a relational database? What would happen with albums that contain recodes of some tracks for external mediums? There's a chance it could show the wrong info
-
I suppose, but how is that different from showing this info in the thumbnail text using expressions?
I like the idea for the eye candy and because it would save me line of thumbnail text, not because it shows vital information that can't be shown otherwise.
-
It would be nice in Theater View where thumbnail text is limited.
