Title: DLNA Setup advice for Smart TV playing MC Recorded TV
Post by: greg.smalter on October 01, 2013, 07:12:04 am
I have a Smart TV and I'd like it to be able to play recorded TV that is in MC's library. I have enabled DLNA in MC, and the TV can see the list of files. All I've been able to play so far is an MP3 file. Most files don't show up, and video files that do show up (iPhone videos, mostly) don't seem playable. I'm primarily interested in getting Recoded TV Shows to play. I understand there are a lot of DLNA options (Generic, PS3, etc.) and file formats (TS, JTV).

Any suggestions for getting this to work? Thanks.

Do some web research on what video formats your TV accepts over DLNA.  If you are lucky, the user manual will indicate this.  If not, maybe someone has posted a list.  If this is fruitless, then you can use UPNP tools to ask the TV what formats it supports (ask when you need help here).

Probably you are safe with mpg2.
