Title: Two issues: drag and drop files doesn't work and volume bar either
Post by: Yukimura on October 06, 2013, 11:38:34 am
Hello, everyone,

I recently purchased a Mac Mini, and discovered that there was a J River version for Mac OS. I downloaded the trial yesterday and noticed two main issues that make it impossible for me to use it:

- I can't simply drag and drop files to any playlist. When I attempt to do it, nothing happens. In the end, I can't add music files at all.

- When playing, I can't change the volume on JR volume bar. When I try to do so, the whole window of JRiver will move.

I'm anxious to purchase the mac version - I already use the Windows version, which is perfect -, but these two issues are preventing me from doing so.

Infos about my system: Mac Mini mid 2011 (Core i5) running OSX 10.8.5 and connected to a external DAC via toslink output (CoreAudio).

Thanks in advance!

Welcome.

Drag-n-drop is not working yet on Mac, but it's on our list.  For now, try right-click > Send To > Playlist.

For volume, I'm not sure.  Do the menu commands Player > Volume work, or the keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl and +-)?

Tried right clicking on Finder, but there's no " Send To" option. Is there any way to add files to a playlist from inside JRiver?

About the volume, either ctrl+(+-) and command+(+-) are working to control the volume.

Thanks for the help, anyway.

You can drag & drop tracks within Media Center onto playlists.
For volume, you should be able to click & drag the volume slider, or click anywhere on the slider bar.
Which type of volume are you using?  Click the speaker icon and see if it's set to System, Internal, or Disabled?
We'll fix the problem with Ctrl++, Ctrl-- not working.

Well, I had a Windows 8 Pro license spare here, and solved all my problems via bootcamp.  ;D

Anyway, I'll keep an eye in future interactions of JRiver for Mac. I thank you guys for the support.

Best regards.

Hi,

I wanted to ask about the progress of drag & drop.

8 month later, I hope it makes it into the product this summer  ;)

It would be so much easier to handle and organize files

Drag'n'drop works inside the program now.
