Is there a way to get full screen visualization to start upon play?

Don't think so

maybe a nice option that could be done.

this would also depend on cpu power since it will take some to do it.

Well, with version 8, set the startup mode to "Full-screen"

When it starts, just hit play and the visualizations will be right there.

That's how I run it at home on my TV...
