Title: JRiver19 and Windows 8?
Post by: cooderhead on October 14, 2013, 09:45:56 am
I recently had Windows 8 installed into my laptop....supposed to be compatible with JRiver 19. I have my laptop connected to my stereo. Everything plays through my stereo speakers.....you tube, iTunes, Windows Media Player...everything except JRiver which plays through the laptop speakers. Hopefully I just need to re-set something. Help? ?

Choose a device in MC's audio settings.

Hi Jim:   Thanks for the quick response. I'm sorry, but I am an old art and just getting used to this. Can you please be more specific and give me a step by step?  I assumed you meant to go to the control panel and audio settings...but I didn't see what it was I should change

Media Center has audio settings.  Go there and select the correct device.  Our wiki has topics on audio setup.

Jim:

I went to the audio settings. I did not see anywhere to connect to a certain device. I guess I will spend the rest of my day studying your Wiki because you cannot answer my question. This should be simple. Everything else works. I am using a DAC and everything plays except JRiver.I wouldn't be surprised if I don't even hear back from you.

Start with the Windows Sound properties. You should be able to test your sound card/output and see what the the name of the device is.

Jim's picture is highlighting the Audio Device not the output format.
