Title: How to display TV show date in DLNA menus
Post by: dorsetjon on October 20, 2013, 05:02:48 pm
A TV show's recording date/time isn't shown in DLNA player menus for TV recorded by MC, whereas the date/time is shown by MC for TV recorded by Windows Media Center. This means that when using a DLNA player, if MC has multiple recorded TV shows from the same series then the recording date isn't displayed so I can't know which episode I am about to watch.

Looking at what information is available in MC about recorded TV (Video->Shows), I see that the "Date" column is not populated for MC recordings but the "Date Recorded" column is populated. Both columns are populated for recordings made by WMC. If I manually enter a "Date" then it is displayed in the DLNA menus. So it appears that the "Date" information is used in DLNA menus if it is available.

So how do we get MC to either populate the "Date" for recorded TV and/or display the "Recorded Date" in DLNA menus if the "Date" is blank? I have tried to customize the DLNA server views to work around this but haven't had any success.
