Title: Bug (here?) When album contains special characters
Post by: AGS1 on March 08, 2002, 01:55:57 pm
I the album name contains for instance "..." and I rip it to a directory, that directory cannot be created.
It creates another valid directory (in this case, without "..."). But tracks being ripped do try to write
in that nonexistent directoy and fail.

Is there anything special about the directory you are ripping to? Perhaps a different system with NFS/Samba or other file sharing?

This is not a bug.

The reference here is to trying to make a folder which contains periods on with head or tail. Windows does not allows this at the end or beginning. You must simply remove the periods from the artist or album name.

I spean from experience since I ripped the Mr. Mister release from 1987 titled, "go on ..."
I had to trucate that to just "go on"

I suppose Media Jukebox could be set to make an "intelligent" directory naming decision. And eliminate the user error by removing all invalid characters.
