Has anyone else noticed an audio stuttering while watching Live TV? I get this quite often (although I don' watch much live TV). It seems to occur after an hour or so, then I use the "back button" on my remote to jump back a couple of seconds and the audio clears up. Seems like audio is getting gout of sync with video.
I use RO+HQ with WASAPI and Videoclock On.
My HTPC is used for 90% movie playback and watching recorded TV (and Netflix) - so I don't watch much Live TV and haven't bothered to mention this Live TV issue before, but I have seen it for a while now.

yes, I see this. My solution is the same as yours...if I back up 10 seconds, it is fine...

Is "Event Style" on or off?
-
assuming you are talking audio hardware, I am using Direct Sound.

In my case "Event Style" is ON.

I also have this problem.
I'm using ASIO which doesn't use event style.

Is a NAS drive involved?
-
For me, it is a very brief stutter...usually I notice it because words in the dialog will be repeated...something like "I need to go to to the cabin" will be what I hear.

Is a NAS drive involved?
Not for me...it is a local drive for TV.

I asked about Event Style is to determine whether this is a new issue or a known issue. There is a known issue where a lack of audio data (due to poor signal for example) would cause audio renderer to repeat its last bits of data. In my tests I could not get the problem to occur when using WASAPI with Event Style (in other words, this audio mode seems to work best). It seems that pausing video until enough data is buffered is the only way to avoid the problem. I will work on it, hopefully soon.

In build 19.0.71:
3. Changed: When television playback gets too close to the front edge of the time-shifting buffer, MC will pause video briefly until enough data are buffered.
Does this help eliminate the audio stuttering for you all? It does for me.

so far so good...I thought it happened once last night, but it turned out that it had actually been recorded that way.
-
I have not had stuttering issues either - so I guess its fixed. Thanks!

I have a similar freeze or stutter with live TV. ATSC will freeze and I end the program which takes me to the program guide and come back and it will be fine. This is intermittent and will sometimes occur several times an hour and will often not occur for hours. On cablecard (Comcast) it will just stutter then freeze for a second and then continue.
Both ATSC and Comcast play fine in WMC. ROHQ Sandy Bridge Win 7, NVidia 650Ti Boost.

I changed to direct sound and it appears my freeze/stuttering with ATSC and Cablecard live TV have cleared up. I do bitstream.
