I just installed 10.9 along with the update and checked integer mode. However output still reads "44.1 kHz 32bit using Core Audio (direct connection)". BTW my DAC is the USC DAC in the Oppo BDP-105
Is there something I'm missing to get 24bit?

I don't think it's using the updated output plugin I linked to here:
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=84665.msg578336#msg578336
Could you replace the file one more time and grab another log?
Thanks.

Sorry about that. I'm going to need a little direction as to where I'm replacing this plugin. which folder is it located?

Since Matt might be a little busy... :)
Look inside the Media Center app package (right click it). Then you go down a few levels until you get to the application. From there, look in the Plugins folder.

Thanks. That one should be easy to support. Check back tomorrow for an updated build of MC.
It's the same buffer format as this one:

great! Thanks again.

I believe this DAC and many others should enter integer mode with the next build of MC (available a little later today).
Testing appreciated.

With this update I'm getting MAJOR distortion with integer selected. (pretty much all you hear).

Could you send me another log? My guess is the padding is being placed on the wrong side of the 24 bits, but I'm not sure.
A log might give me a few clues.
Thanks.

Still the same issues with distortion as before. The output now reads 24 bit (padded).
I will email you a new log file.

Try turning off integer mode, then quit MC. Shutdown computer, shutdown DAC.
The reboot computer and start DAC, it should work without using integer mode.
This is what worked for me with the DAC.

Testing of this build appreciated:
