Title: New version screws up how file listing is displayed
Post by: daveman on October 31, 2013, 01:58:00 pm
Hi there,

Just updated to the newest version of MC19.  I view files via the File tab.  When I click on it, it now correctly displays my local  hard drive (D:) but my server is now listed as Unassigned.  This is true both for audio and video.  Listing via show, movies, etc (both for audio and video) display correctly.

thoughts?

Not sure .. you have so many libraries why is that? Looks like in the screen shot you are playing/looking at a local library .... could be that if you were loading the server library this would disappear

Have you mapped a UNC drive letter for your server. If not, try that too

I only use one library.  All the others reflect media servers in my home.  I have not done anything different than I have had for the last 3 years since using MC.  This problem started today when I updated to newester version of MC19

This is MC18 (I just reloaded it to show you) and a new one for MC19

ok maybe so. Maybe version 18 was more forgiving for this type of config. .. still you have not mapped a unc Drive letter to test like I suggested. You shouldn't see \\server you should see something like Z:\ if you tried that ... also you are playing from "Main Library" not your server in your screens ... Try loading your Library "Server Kurzman" instead of "Main Library" which is local.

Now is everything showing??

Normally I would expect a "Main" Library and the server library showing up on each client .. maybe I'm the one thats confused though  :)

It looks like you found a bug in File Path based categories when dealing with UNC paths.

We'll get it fixed next build.  Sorry for the trouble.

haha...I was just coming on to report something similar...if I list my files from the E: drive, everything shows up, however, if I drill down and show E:\TV, it is empty.  Hopefully it is the same bug.

Remapping the network drive to a drive letter was the first thing I assumed would fix it but when trying to enter configure auto import folders it crashes even on the latest build .67 it still crashes, Worked fine the first time but I cant get back into it anymore :(

I can still drag drop files onto my library and the folders that were listed in auto-import still see new stuff. Its only when I try to enter that and or tools/import
(though honestly I didn't go clicking around everything to see if there were other issues)

Windows 7 sp1 x64. Nvidia GTX 770, 16GB Ram, Core I7 quad 3.5ghz.
Updated all my drivers as well just to be sure.

The problem listed above is related to how filename categories are displayed.

I believe it's unrelated to auto-import configuration.  If auto-import configure is causing troubles, try unplugging removable drives and devices.

If that doesn't help, please capture a log and mail it to logs at jriver dot com.

Thanks.

.67 fixed my issue (well, one of them at least).  Thanks!
