Hello:
I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I used to run my Xonar aanlog out to my receiver, and in that case, both WASAPI and (and ASIO, in it's own way) respected Exclusive Mode...NOTHING would interrupt playback. Since I've upgraded to an exclusive DAC, I'm running digital coax out to my receiver with WASAPI sp/dif out (or ASIO, for that matter). Now, WASAPI and ASIO are not respecting exclusive mode's authoritah. Audio from my browser (or any other third party audio) Interrupts MC playback. As soon as I close said browser, playback resumes in MC. Would this be expected behavior?
Thanks,
C

This behavior is determined by your audio driver. Other than try WASAPI vs ASIO, I'm not sure what else there would be to try.

I could be wrong, but it may be that in exclusive mode, no other sources that are a different bit depth and/or sample rate than that playing will interrupt.

Thanks Matt. I expected as much, but wanted to be sure. Thanks also, Syndrome.
