I am having trouble playing back 7.1 DTS HD MA LPCM, I have only been able to output 5.1 DTS HD MA LPCM. When I arrow up the choices for audio do not include 7.1 DTS HD MA. When I right click to Streams, The best available codec is English DTS HD 48, 5.1, DTS HD MA 7.1 does not come up as a choice.
I know the file contains 7,1 DTS HD MA as I can play it from Arcsoft player. Any help is greatly appreciated

Copy Arcsoft's dtsdecoderdll.dll to %APPDATA%\J River\Media Center 19\Plugins\lav\ and it should work. Without this, it's only playing the core DTS file.
-
Sorry, not super computer literate how would I do this, I have copied dtsdecoderdll.dll from Arcsoft file but am lost as to how to copy it to JRiver
-
If you copy and paste %APPDATA%\J River\Media Center 19\Plugins\lav\ into the Explorer address bar, it should take you to the correct folder.

That looks like the correct place. If you have the dtsdecoderdll.dll file in there, Media Center should be able to load the DTS HD track. (you may have to close and re-open MC after doing this)

I am still only able to play 5.1, 7.1 does not come up as an option. Here is a better picture of the plug in page

Under options>audio>bitstreaming, review which formats you have checked off.
-
Bit streaming is off
-
Are you sure its not actually playing 7.1, just labeling it wrong?
Its unlikely for a file to have both a 7.1 and 5.1 DTS-HD track.
-
Yes I can identify the channel output by use of meters, it is a 5.1 output in MC19 vs 7.1 in Arcsoft, same files
-
The Pacific Rim Blu-ray has both 5.1 DTS-HD and 7.1 DTS-HD tracks. What movie are you trying to play?
-
How are you validating which track is playing in MC?
You can check audio path (hover over DSP icon upper right hand corner and wait for popup). It will show you exactly what is playing.
You may also want to check DSP Studio, Output format, Channels. If that says 5.1 with JRSS Mixing enabled you'll never get 7.1 channels from MC.

This has corrected the issue, thank you

I have the exact same issue. When I play Oblivion and look at the stream, there is no 7.1 choice only 5.1. I put the dtsdecoderdll.dll from TMT in MC19>plugins>lav as recommended but still only see the 5.1 stream. This seems to be true for all DTS MA 7.1 movies. If the move is Dolby True HD with 7.1 such as Star Trek into Darkness I can see the 7.1 stream. Any other ideas how to solve this?
-
Its just a cosmetic issue, if a disc actually has a DTS-HD MA 7.1 track, and you play these tracks with the ArcSoft dtsdecoder they will be 7.1, you can check the Audio Path to confirm.
-
Then why does the stream show 7.1 with True HD movies? Is it just cosmetic for DTS ma 7.1 movies?
-
Yes, its only an issue for DTS-HD MA movies.
