Title: Audio playback only through Macmini!
Post by: hmasoni on November 08, 2013, 09:00:06 am
I have latest release and some files play back only at very low level that can be heard coming from the computer (Macmini).  The sound never makes it down the stereo chain and out the speakers??

Some files play just fine.

Problem doesn't seem to be confined to hi-res files, just random.

Help please!

Faulty cabling?

If there are no speakers connected to a Mini, it'll default to its internal speaker.

Yeah the "just random" part is weird... do you get the same results from other players?  iTunes?

Thanks for the responses.  The speakers are connected and some files play just fine.  I have not tried any other players, such as itunes or Amarra, etc.  I've gone back into Audio Midi and Sound and reset all the selections (i'm connected via USB to a Stahltek USB converter).  I've tried a few album so far (some hi-rez, some not), and they've been okay. It's just that I'm a newbie to JRiver, and don't know if there are some settings within JRiver that i need to verify are set correctly.

Thanks for your help!

Rick

What DAC do you use?  Under JRiver Tools>Options>Audio>Audio Device is your DAC listed?
