Title: Portable antenna powering for a TV card
Post by: chug on November 10, 2013, 08:37:15 am
Using DVB-T2 on a TBS card. My set top box and TV have the option of "portable antenna powering" which once enabled I manage to get all the channels without any issue. It is a very old aerial on the roof.

I split the aerial with a 2 way amplifier in the hope this would give it the power it needed, but it doesn't.

Is there another type of box I need to get all the channels on the PC?

When you split the cable from the antenna, you lose a little signal strength.

Yes but its pretty minor if only split once on a short distance.

Found a portable powerer on ebay for cheap. Hopefully that'll solve the issue.

Power has turned up, reception is much better all round. Problem solved it seems.
