Title: Bluray Help - Just says 'Waiting'

Just borrowed an external bluray drive to test to see if I want to buy one.

I put in a copy of 'Les Mis', and it won't play.  It loads up as if it will, but where the movie duration time goes it just says 'Waiting'.  I've left it there for over 10 minutes with no changes.

Any ideas on how to get the bluray to work?

From that wiki - "Insert a disc and the program will offer to play it."

That to me reads as 'if you want to rip a bluray, then reader is required'. 

So that is saying 'if you want to watch a bluray, then you need to pay extra money and purchase AnyDVD or DVDFab'?
