Title: Extract Subwoofer channel
Post by: RayDiant on November 11, 2013, 03:32:32 pm
Is there any way to extract the subwoofer (.1 or .2) channel digitally?

I currently have a 2.1 system but I had to move the subwoofer from one end of the room to the other. There are no wires to connect the subwoofer. I tried a wireless audio device (Jamo WK200) but it caused pops and clicks and was pretty useless. I do have a digital connection (ethernet over power lines) near to the subwoofer so I thought if MC could extract the digital subwoofer signal, send it to a DAC of some kind over the ethernet network and pump the output of the DAC to the subwoofer. At the same time I need to pump the main analogue signal to the amp to play 2 in the 2.1.

When I write it out it seems a lot easier just to figure out how to get a cable to the subwoofer but any ideas you have would be appreciated.
