Installed Adaptec ASPI upgrade to version 4.6. Is functioning properly per Adaptec ASPI Checking utility (ASPICHK.EXE). Adaptec EZ CD Creator ver. 4 works fine with the CD Burner (Samsung SM 303B). This burner is also on approved list of Media Jukebox CDROM Recorders (http://www.goldenhawk.com/devices_body.htm). Any suggestions?

Uninstall ASPI layer. You don't need it. Also you didn't tell us what OS you are running.

My operating system is Windows Millenium Edition (ME). The reason I installed the ASPI upgrade was to see if it would "fix" my CD Burner (Samsung SM-304B Combo) which has not worked for months. I tried upgrading the burner's ROM, changing media and using different burning software (Nero, Music Match Jukebox) and nothing worked. I kept getting write errors.
After I installed the upgrade, the CD Burner did actually work with EZ CD Creator, but Media Jukebox did not recognize the burner anymore. Sounds crazy dosen't it?
Some follow-up questions to your post: (1) Will other cd writing software (such as Adaptec's Direct CD and EZ CD Creator work without the ASPI Layer? (2) If so, how do I remove ASPI? Any other thoughts are appreciated.

Try the latest Adaptec Aspi layer (version 4.7) available at. This has worked well for other MJ users.

Thanks JohnT. I did install version 4.7. It turns out the ASPICHK.EXE program reported the version as 4.6. Just to be sure, I re-downloaded it and reinstalled it. No dice. Media Jukebox still does not recognize burner.

It turns out that Adaptec's ASPI isn't as good as some others. I took Nero's ASPI32 file and stuck it in my system folder. After that, I had access to all my drives from every one of my CDBuring apps.
