Title: Need to write tags in ID3v2.4
Post by: dan184 on November 18, 2013, 06:39:26 pm
Hello,
I'm testing MC19 and need to change the tags in my flac and dsf files to ID3v2.4 format from ID3v2.3.  I'll also need to use ID3v2.4 for any new files added.  How do I do this?

Thanks.

Welcome.

FLAC uses Vorbis comments.

MC supports ID3v2.3 and ID3v2.4 for DSF files.  If it writes a new tag, it will use ID3v2.3 because that's more compatible with other programs (and supports all the same features).  If it updates an existing tag, it will preserve the version.

i need to expand the Date field to include month and day.  However the renderer in my case is expecting the TDAT tag.  I understand JRiver does not use this tag.  If I can use ID3v2.4 I can use TDRC which is supported by the renderer.

Is there a way to force JRiver to use the TDRC frame for existing dsf files and all new files that I add?

Thank you.
