Title: Security for Gizmo & Webgizmo
Post by: DancingMan on November 21, 2013, 09:56:45 am
I've set up my media server so I can access it remotely with authentication - great feature by the way!!!

I'm guessing Webgizmo doesn't have any sort of encryption on it since the address is just http.....; so does that mean anyone on the remote network I'm using would be able to intercept my user id & password (as well as the media I stream)?  Would that apply to the Gizmo android app as well?

I've set up an SSH tunnel for my laptop that works quite nicely.  On my tablet, I have the tunnel configured and the port forwarding set.  When I run the Gizmo app using the local, forwarded port, it connects to my server and asks for my user id & password.... then crashes.  Any ideas?

Thanks in advance
