Title: Question RE Moving Library To New PC
Post by: ddjj on November 23, 2013, 08:54:13 pm
Installed latest 19 version to new PC.  Entered registration code, no problems.

Per wiki, made backup of library, restored library on new PC, no problem.

Did a File Move, Copy, etc, to change the directory where all the music was stored on the new PC (D:\FLAC Library to A:\FLAC Library). No problems...all of the music showed, plus all of the custom views, playlists, etc.

Every time I restart the app now, it goes through the "Extracting 37%..." routine, like I need to re do everything each time I restart.

I assume this has something to do with registration, but how?

Thanks for any help!

Dan

What do you mean extracting 37%? Extracting what? The only thing I can think of off the top of my head re extracting is when one installs the program. You're not installing the program again each time you start it by clicking on the original download?

OMG!  Thank you Chris.  I can't believe how stupid I feel right now, but I am thankful that you helped prevent me from burning the midnight oil trying to figure this out!  Give yourself a pat on the back for this one--you nailed it!  I always save the installation package to my desktop and just forgot about that this time. :(

Cheers,

Dan

Hey Dan, glad I could save you some midnight oil; you'll probably need plenty to wade through the intricacies of MC19.
