Title: JRiver directories and files on in Windows 7
Post by: bussboy on November 25, 2013, 12:28:39 pm
There seems to be two sets of files and directories on the Windows 7 computer on which I am running MC  19.
C:\USERS\USERNAME\MY DOCUMENTS\JRiver\MEDIA CENTER 19\? C:\USERS\USERNAME\APDATA\ROAMING\MEDIA CENTER 19\?

What is the purpose of each?
Which should be backed up?

Win7x64. Default Library, thumbnails, etc. reside in...
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 19
Definitely worth backing up, preferably in a system drive image backup.

Under My documents you find the default but user configurable meta data folders and Audio/Video rip folders:
See Tools > Options > File Location
I think it's good pactice to move these folders to a different drive (especially the Library Backups) as well as the media folders (Options > Library & Folders)
