I keep getting a crash of MadVR when watching Live TV. Most of the time it freezes the video and locks up MC. Sometimes the screen goes black but I can see the mouse pointer and move it around. It will occur when I'm switch TV channels or going from TV to some other media (such as movies). After I close MC (using Task Manager) I will see the MadVR crash window (bug report window). This was a problem with my system a while back then went away, now its back. Last time this was an issue I had to setup MC so TV would not used MadVR. Then after a couple of MC version upgrades I went back to the standard setup and it has been fine to now.
Is it a setting or a recent MC upgrade/change (I'm running the latest MC version).
The only change I made in MadVR was to set "Deinterlacing to ON when in doubt" and force to "Film mode". I need these settings to get my DVDs to play nicely. Maybe one of them is causing this problem.
Is this a know issue?

I'm seeing the same problem. I sent a madVR bug report.

Any news on this issue.?
I to have had to turn MadVR off for now until I can work out which setting is causing mine to crash.

I used to get this using AMD hardware but since changing to NVIDIA this doesn't seem to be an issue for me anyway !
-
Are you using 19.0.117?
-
The hardware acceleration settings were out of sync between file playback and TV, which may have caused unwanted behaviour for TV playback.
A fix is coming in the next build, please report back!

I have hardware acceleration turned off (Red October HQ turned on) and I get this problem.

Any idea when we will get the latest build of madvr I have random mdvr crashing issues still
-
Hendrik answered this question a few days ago. When we think it's ready was the short answer.
-
I'm waiting for the next release, as it'll have more bugfixes of reported issues. It should probably be out soon.

How do you update madVR?
-
MC will do it for you.

Really, nice one thanks.
So I do not need to download it, there's nothing for me to do?
I am currently running V0.86.9 through JR

I just installed an HD Homerun yesterday, and MadVR is crashing frequently in TV (five times in the last hour). Sometimes blank screen with MadVR error window, others JRiver CTDs. Red October Standard doesn't seem to cause any crashes.
I've been using Red October HQ for a year or so and had only seen MadVR crash once or twice before this. Using most current MC version; NVidia 660 and hardware acceleration is off.

madVR will probably be updated in MC soon. Until then, you could use RO STD.

That's what I'm doing for now and it's a perfect workaround. The good news is that RO Std looks really good (it's been a long time since I used it, I didn't remember it looking this nice) ;D
