Title: Usability Question
Post by: dminches on November 27, 2013, 07:37:56 am
In my library let's say I have 2 Bonnie Raitt albums. When I click her icon it then shows the cover art for each of the albums. If I double tap on one of the albums the next screen shows an icon for each song, but it doesn't show the song title. I think it is showing the bit rate. How do I get it to show the song titles?  Is this an issue with how I originally set up the view in MC?

Also, how do people play the entire album?  Do you press and hold the album cover icon and press "play now"?

This sounds to be associated with how you have the view set up.  Right click on the view -> Customize View: what do you have listed in Show Categories In This Order?

There are a many ways to play an entire album.  Some simple ways:

1) right click on the album -> Play
2) if you hover the mouse over an album you will see a Play link (along with the next child level or View if there are multiple child levels)
3) click on a track in an album -> Ctrl+A to select all -> enter

My view is set up with:

Album artist (auto)
Album

Is this how it should do it?

Are the individual tracks being displayed in the upper window or down below?

When you have the two albums up, and you double click on one of the albums, what does the tab read?

If you click on the little arrow on the tab -> Thumbnails -> Thumbnail Text what is the Expression?

When I double click on one of the albums a window opens below which has the track names so this is good now.

I wish it worked the same way in jremote since I will likely use that more than the media center.

Thanks for you help.

Sorry, I don't use JRemote so I cannot help you, but there very well be a way you can get it to display what you want.

There is a separate iPhone/iPad forum where someone else might be able to help:  http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=18.0

If you notice, connersw, only has a few more than 100 posts himself. That makes him somewhat of a newbie too. :) It's really great to see relatively new people roll up their sleeves and help even newer ones when they can. This is a great forum in that respect.
Thanks, connersw!
