I am using Gizmo daily nowadays. For at least 3 hours a day. Video works great, and the caching of audio files really helps when signal drops on my train ride.
The last big frustrating thing about using the app now is getting to Playing Now to pause or stop the music (or see the name of the currently playing song). If I leave the app to use my tablet for other things while I'm listening to music then it it takes 4 touches to get back to Gizmo and to Playing Now. I would love to see a little floating Playing Now bar that floats at the bottom of the app when very something is playing. A Notification bar widget with playback controls would also be a bonus.
Thanks for the work so far though. Gizmo is helping me through many a commute.

Press and hold the home icon in the upper left corner.

I didn't know that. Thanks Jim.
The requests are still good though I think.

you can easily make your own notification widget with media controls using an app called Power Toggles. it's free and does not require root.
cheers

I have started using Play Doctor and can not "see" the playlist when I tap "playing now". I can't skip a song or fast forward. The only control that seems to work is the volume. What am I doing wrong?

I was not able to add a gizmo notification icon. I could only add it to the notification row.

Are you using Gizmo? Or WebGizmo?
You should see a list icon with several lines at the bottom left corner.

True, but you can make the whole row Gizmo related. For example, I have Bubble UPnP, Gizmo, Back, Pause/Play, Forward, Mute, Screen Unlock, and Screen Rotate on mine. I actually find it more useful this way (Screen Unlock and Rotate are extremely handy).

I do not have that icon in the lower left of my screen. :(

Sorry joetii, I was not replying to you. I was responding to Castius and the OP's original issue about the Notification Bar. My response was in regards to setting up Power Toggles to use it with Gizmo.
The image Jim posted is of the old Gizmo buttons. The new ones are shown below. I outlined the list button in red.
Make sure you are using the most current version of MC: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=86848.0
And of Gizmo: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=87063.0
There were some Fast Forward/Seek issues related to writing to the cache, but it is fixed in the current version. If you are still having issues, you may want to start your own thread to avoid confusion.

I do think power toggle would help the original topic.
But notifcatin icons would help users not interested in using a second app.
Plus notification icon is helpful to know what gizmo is doing and get to it quickly.
