Title: Theater View skinning Wiki/tutorial?
Post by: ivb on December 03, 2013, 10:49:09 am
I swear I saw a Theater View skinning tutorial somewhere, but I can't find it.

Specifically I'm looking to understand how the menus are built, I want to see if I can personally modify how Hulu is displayed so I can see if I can move the "Queue" bit to the front, and ideally delete all the other subrollers.  A general guide on how the various files play would be nice too, I looked through Base*.xml but I couldn't find any reference to Hulu.

I'm sure there'll be other stuff I want to do (ie how does the search work), but lets start with that.

Ah yes thats it, cool thanks.

And yes, this is where I suddenly remembered the search button on the left. (Didn't see an entry in the Wiki page, clicked various places).  I'm an idiot, thanks for the life preserver...

Just looked through the tutorial plus the various XMLs. Indeed, it seems they are literally just the "skin".

I'm trying to figure out where MC stores the actual content for the menus. I want to change the Hulu subroller. Is that in a proprietary/not changeable by mere mortals location?

In options, under Theater View, you can customize the views, but not everything can be changed.

Darn, I was hoping to be able to help myself do that Hulu submenu item re-ordering instead of begging you guys to do it.
