Title: Panorama of Versailles
Post by: JimH on December 04, 2013, 07:44:17 pm
At the Met in New York, there is a painting of Versailles that is 166 feet long and makes a complete circle around you as you walk through the room where it's displayed.

Matt and I sometimes talk about providing images in a similarly immersive manner.  Something like Google Streets, but with real images from all kinds of sources.  That's Matt's idea.

Mine is simpler.  A room of any size, with screens on two or three walls, so if you sit closely enough, the images surround you.

I can imagine either one being a good substitute for travel to far off places.
