Title: Screen grab to file - how does it work
Post by: Humbledore on December 07, 2013, 04:21:45 am
Hi,
I wonder what actually is happening when I use the feature 'screen grab to file' on a mov-file. When I do that, I only get a black image jpg-file. I guess that should not be the result...
Thanks!

Two things...

1. Screen grab will not work if you have Quicktime files set to use the Quicktime engine under "Options > Filetypes", but, if you set that to "Automatic", screen grabs may work, but videos shot in portrait orientation will playback sideways in landscape.

2. There's a bug in recent releases causing black captures, as reported here a few days ago... http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=85744.0
A fix for that is in the pipeline and should be available soon.

I have all my file types set to "Automatic", but now I know there could be problems when using this feature.
Thank you very much!
