Title: Library Backup Complete?
Post by: mstan on December 13, 2013, 12:53:15 pm
I have been switching back land forth between MC19 for Windows and Mac  - and more recently migrating to a new Mac Mini - using the same media files on a remote server.   It works great, almost.  I have discovered upon doing a restore of the MC19 Windows settings from the old Mac Mini to the new Mac Mini that not everything is restored.   It looks like some changes made to some files - like art work, for example - weren't backed up.   Apparently, some data like art work that can't be written to the physical file itself is written to a separate default (?) folder on the main drive and is not part of the library back up process.   Is that right or have I missed a setting somewhere?  If so, how about changing that to include it.

Cover art isn't backed up by doing an MC backup.  It's part of your media.

Right, but only if the artwork is embedded in the file.  I think sometimes MC is not doing that and so puts the artwork in a separate folder right?    So should;t that folder be part of the back up?

You have a choice as where to store the cover art. putting it in with the media files works great for me.
Ok.
