Title: Crash on Open
Post by: olson_jr on December 19, 2013, 04:34:34 am
First time user, I am trying to use MC19 for MAC and every time I open the application it crashes. I have tried shutting off AVAST but that does not help. I assume that I don't have the correct version for MAC or I need to update or change a setting but I am not finding the issue on the FAQ or on the help boards.

I am getting this verbiage in the error definition box when it does crash. Does the Exception Type:  EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) mean something specific?

If it is caused by antivirus, disabling may not be enough.  Uninstall.  We've seen two crashes in the last week that were solved by uninstalling AV software.  Both were on Windows.

You could also try the more recent build here:

Thank you Jim, I will give both of those a try this evening.

I had tried the latest build but had the crash issue,  thought going back might be less buggy.

Have not had time to read through all the posts and version levels.
