Hi.
Earlier build use to have the option to choose DOP in the Options--> setting-->Bitstreaming --> choose DOP (DSD over PCM)
In build 10.0.88 this option is removed.
Can anybody tell how I setup to DOP ?
PS: I would like to have everything to be bit correct, No up/down sampling or converted to DSD or 2DSD.
My DAC input is an Amanero USB to I2S USB input and is able to play DSD and 2DSD files.
Best regards
Caad

Yes I noticed this as well. However I just used the following setting and my DAC is working properly with DSD files.
Tools->Options->Audio->Bitstreaming->DSD

p.s. not sure how they figure out which of the two DoP protocols to use, but mine which uses the newer standard works fine.
p.p.s Only is you choose Tools->Options->Audio->DSP & Output format and choose an output encoding (ie. DSD in DoP format) would MC convert your PCM files to DSD.

Yes, just use "DSD". On Mac it always uses DOP format for DSD anyway.

Hi ..
Thank you for the advise and info..
Great to have this cleared out once and for all.

I encounter this problem, too.
I can encode non-dsd file to work with my DAC.
But for DSD files, I don't know how to make it work with DoP.
What I get is only a lot of noise.
-
Which DAC do you have? Have you been able to play to it successfully in the past with your Mac?
-
I am having the same problem using a MSB DAC PLATINUM 4
What can I do to solve it?
Using the free MC trial was working with bit perfect dsd after the payement and installation of the licence stops to work

more details.
My situation seem to be the same that was reported by "czakari in Static when playing dsd files..."

I've replied in that other thread you mentioned: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=85806.msg597641#msg597641 (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=85806.msg597641#msg597641)
Here's a Wiki page on DAC setup: http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/DAC_Settings (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/DAC_Settings)
Do you have DSD Bitstreaming enabled when doing playback to the DAC? Installing the license wouldn't have any effect on the audio path.
Here's a thread about another user who is successfully using an MSB DAC with our software on OSX Mavericks. He had some problems initially with Mavericks in Integer mode, but by the end of the thread using a newer build of Media Center, he got it to work:

Maybe there are some tips in there that might be helpful to you.

I am working with Integer mode not selected(if on i have distortion)
-output msb DAC (core audio)
-dsd on
-when working dsp function shows right input and output for all the files
Input DAC show instable bit working with file. flac at 16bit (variation 15-17 mostly fix to 17 bit) and stable bit working with file flac at 24 bit
-Using file dsd or .iso the input DAC shows right in and out so the input of dac is correct dsd 64 or 128
-Using DSD together with the music there are a very high noises (schhh...)
-With DSD off seems to work properly having input to DAC of 24 bit 356..khz
Maybe updating the log file library work properly?

Caad..... May I inquire what Amanero USB based DAC you are using, or might it be a DIY effort ? Thanks, Dave

Let me tell you what I have set and my configuration and maybe we can figure out the difference?
Using a Mac Mini with 16 GB memory connected via USB to MSB Analog DAC. Latest firmware on MSB Analog DAC and Mac OS Mavericks installed. My filed are installed on a NAS so Mac Mini gets those over ethernet.
In MC, Tools->Options->Audio
Audio Device - MSB USB 2.0 Audio Out (Core Audio)
Device settings - Open Device with Exclusive Access and Integer Mode enabled.
Buffering - Software = 100 Milliseconds - Hardware = Hardware Default
Settings
DSP & Output format - Output encoding = None
Bitstreaming = Yes (DSD)
I have Play files from memory enabled (this shouldn't matter)
I am able to playback FLAC, AIFF, DSD files with nary a problem. Using 16/44.1, 24/96, 24/192 AIFF or FLAC files, as well as DSD64 and DSD 128 Files.
How much memory and what type of Mac are you using? Have you tried a different USB cable?
And what HD are you using and how is it connected?

-machine msb DAC 4 platinum
used before with another pc with os win 7 without any problems (jriver, foobar jplay)
Now start from on week to use mac mini last model
- New Mac mini like your with 16 gb ram(i will check better for OS INSTALLED)
- same setting but without integer mode (if on distortion on music)
- external hd "freecom 3 tera" connection fire ware
- ON mac mini i am using audirvana plus too
- This works well (I set memory to 4 gb)
-connection cable to MSB same used with pc win 7 (USB cable of Neutral cable trade mark us)
I had troubles to realize how to use and set MIDI AUDIO on MAC...?
-How do set the midi audio?
-
yes the MAC OS system is like your.

IF i use integer MODE "on" besides a Little distortion hearing music I note s on the input reading of MSB a FLOATING FROM 17bit TO 24 BiT
Without integer mode the bit is fix to 17 bit (this mean that j river is not working like "perfect bit"
Audirvana plus is working properly!
-
problems solved now is ok!
-Last version of jriver
- plus internal system volume activated yes
