Title: ZRocker's 1st Visualization File (Downloadable)
Post by: ZRocker on February 28, 2002, 02:37:54 pm
Ok...here's my first visualization for public consumption...if you are a Metalhead, you might like it.  I think there's 2 or 3 MJ users that like Metal...maybe.

My visualizaiton is not going to change the world or anything, but it's 100% my style.

This is a self-installation file.  Once it downloads and installs, you should have a ZRocker folder in your Vis Studio directory and popup menu.

Thanks...if you don't like it, please just kindly delete it and don't tell me you hated it (I'm very sensitive right now...LOL).

YOU MUST HAVE MJ 8.0.216 (OR HIGHER) INSTALLED FOR THIS VISUALIZATION TO WORK.

*** Update *** 2002/02/28 09:00PM CST
I just updated the download .ZIP file to include two variations of the original visualization.  Some may find them less annoying/busy as the 1st one.  Put all files in the \ZRocker sub-dir.  If you downloaded the early version with only one visualization, please just download again, install and you'll have all 3 visualizations now.

*** Update *** 2002/03/01 09:30AM CST
Removed the Flush component from a few visualizations (per Matt's suggestion that the Image component always does a flush anyways...thanks again Matt.).  New .ZIP file posted.

*** Update *** 2002/03/01 09:50AM CST
Added self-installation support (no more manual .ZIP file installation needed).

*** Update *** 2002/03/01 01:30PM CST
Now, get Doof's visualizations here.  Thanks Doof!!

*** Update *** 2002/03/01 05:30PM CST
Updated the visualizations to use Matt's new ClipAtBorders property setting in build 217.  Download again if you want to pickup the visualizations with this new setting.

Z,
Don't know if I like it or not. I can't see it. It's where you said put it and the name is at the bottom of the viz and in viz studio says it's working but there is a black screen.

C8: I can't see it.

Well, that's odd...and Doof can see it.  Are you using build 216 too?  The ZRocker folder should be on the same level as Spectrum Analyzer under Vis Studio directory...like MJ\Visualizations\Vis Studio\ZRocker...is that what you have?

Maybe you need to clear out the old ZRocker directory (ie, delete it).  It worked here multiple times...I'll research it (for you).  Can you tell where it is failing?

Also, can you download the JRiver Arsenolite vis plug-in fine?

Yeah, Arsenolite works fine.

This is on a machine that never had the first version of your vis, so there was no ZRocker folder to begin with.

It downloads fine, but then says it failed to install.

Actually, I take that back... Although Arsenolite downloads fine, and reports a successful installation, I don't see any evidence within MJ that's present at all. It doesn't show up in Pluing Manager, it doesn't show up as a Visualization plugin anywhere... The folder is there, however. It's under J River\Media Jukebox\Visualizations\Arsenolite.

Here's a few I made. and packaged the same way that you did, Z. This doesn't work for me either, but maybe it will for you (and anybody else who wants to try them)?

Doof,

It installed fine...playing with them now...thanks!!

Good stuff (like Insanity and Pink Madness III)...my favorite is Purple Galaxy (that one must have taken you days to complete).

Purple Galaxy - I take it it's not working for you either? It's weird. It was working fine at home. I copied it to this machine and it doesn't work at all. Next Page

Don't worry. You're not missing much. Next Page

Zrocker01 #3 works fine. The other Zrockers don't. Doof's stuff works good. I'm going to install 8.0.217 and see what happens then.
Keep 'em coming folks.

CVII,

#3 is the only vis that doesn't use a Spectrum Analyzer component...I'm betting none of the MJ factory-installed Spectrum Analyzer visusalizations work for you either, right?  Might be a video card thing or something...maybe Doof, Matt or somebody else can shed some light on this problem.

...or...

Maybe the visualizations (graphic image with Spectrum Analyzer & Super Transformer component) are too intense for your hardware.  What's your OS or Sys (cpu, mem, etc) configuration.  I'm running on a pretty slow system by today's standards, but the vis'es work fine on it (PII 450 w/256meg & Win2k).

Right, I'll have a chop at this.
Downloadable Visualisations par excellence (MHO)

click http://www.ozemail.com.au/~stono/Callithumpian.mjp

Packaged as per Doof's and Z's above and will self install.
MJ must be restarted to activate the new Visualisations.

CVIII,

What is the name of the ONE you got with MJ80?  Mine came with two (Classic and Cover Art Spectrum).
