Hi,
I would like to know how to import my PC MC 18 library to the new MAC MC 19 version.
I saw a couple of threads on issues with pointing to music files etc. but didn't see any definitive post on how this works.
thank you.

any help anyone?

The easiest way is to simply import your media files into MC 19 on Mac.

Thank you.
I've been using media center for 10 years and 40k files with ratings, play counts, custom genres etc. so I wouldn't want to lose all that. Is there technically any way to re-point the files on a MAC? I keep all media on an external drive so I really just want to re-point my MC MAC version to the same files using my MC PC library. please help.

You could do a library backup on Windows, then restore it on Mac (first un-check "restore settings"), then select all files, right-click, and use find and replace (Library Tools / Rename, Move, & Copy Files / Find & replace) to replace the front part of the Windows filename paths with the correct path to the files on Mac (for example, replace "M:\Music\" with "/Volumes/Music/" or similar).

Thank you. This worked perfectly.
Although on a Mac you have to use the "/" and not a PC "\" even though the visible display in MC filepath is is "\". I stumbled through this..

Glad it worked for you :D

while I have your attention, just confirming there are no upgrade discounts from a paid PC version to a MAC?

No. They are different products.
