Title: Prevent Theater View from skipping a category?
Post by: 6233638 on December 25, 2013, 09:46:02 pm
One of the good things about Theater View is that it will skip a category if there's only one item in it, and take you straight to the next level down.

When you're controlling this with a remote, you want to avoid any unnecessary categories if possible.
But sometimes there are categories I want to see even when there is only a single item in it.

For example, my main music view is basically:

> Album Artist (auto)
>> [Year] Album
>>> Album Versions (list all versions of an album if more than one exists)
>>>> Channels (display an option for stereo/multichannel, if it exists)

The third and fourth levels are often skipped, which is a very good thing.

However, I don't like being taken directly to a track listing if I only select an Artist's name - it just doesn't make any sense, and the header shows the artist name rather than the album name.

Is there any way to force a category to be displayed?

I was really hoping there was something I had overlooked, or that there was some way of tricking Media Center into doing this. :(
