Title: import smartlist
Post by: aqus on December 27, 2013, 01:49:24 pm
Hi Have re-installed windows and media center I did an export of my playlists before. Now I am trying to import them back into media center and all I get is imported playlists which are no longer playlists. How can I bring back my playlists to how they were before? I do have backups of all my old files if needed. I am using media center 19. Tried searching but couldn't find an answer.

You could just restore from a backup.  MC makes them automatically.  They are zip files.

thanks for the response. But the files I see from my previous version are .m3u files not zipped files. this is from directory
C:\Users\Sal\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 19\Library\Playlists
OOPS just noticed I did an export playlist not a backup...Am I doomed now?

No, probably not.

MC automatically makes Library backups roughly every three days.  Unless you moved it, this defaults to your user account's Documents folder, in the JRiver subfolder.  You should find a bunch of them there.

Restore the most recent one using File > Library > Restore Library

worked ...thanks
have another question.
I also have a htpc and I want to use the same playlist. I know I can do a restore there of my main pc backup but that will mess up all my other settings. Is there a way I can transfer only the playlists? I know I can do a export and import but this doesn't work with smartlists.
