Title: Taskbar popup?
Post by: Mike48 on December 27, 2013, 05:43:59 pm
I have JR MC 19.0.91 for Windows installed on my desktop & laptop computers. Both are running Windows 7/64 Professional.

When MC is minimized on the laptop & I put the mouse pointer over the MC icon in the taskbar, a popup appears that lets me pause/play/advance track. On the desktop, this does not appear. I have searched the Options but have not found how to turn this ON on the desktop computer. I'll be grateful for hints!

This is a long-standing issue. The quick fix is to close and relaunch Media Center, but I know that's not ideal.

Thanks, guys, for the repiles.

I figured out that when I use an Aero theme for the Windows Desktop, the popup doesn't appear. When I use a "classic" theme, it does.

I haven't yet tried the skin recommended by Tao, but I will.

Tao, could you give the NAME of the plugin, please?  I am having trouble finding it on the link.  Thanks!

Ah, I found it!  I just had to click "Interface Plug-Ins" from the menu on the left of the page.

It works very sketchily.  It sometimes works when the program window is at normal size but covered by other windows. At other times, it shows only a small image of the window, without controls. It doesn't work at all when the MC window is minimized -- but that's a time it's needed most.

I would guess that may be it (32 vs 64 bits).  When it does work, it's perfect!
