Howdy All,
I recently started looking for an alternative to iTunes and found JRiver. So, far I'm really liking it. ;D
I understand it is still in development but have come across some issues. Did a little searching around here but haven't found solutions.
- When MC loads from iTunes some songs are loaded twice into one album. The same with some podcasts. It's random and I'm not seeing this in iTunes.
- Some podcasts are loaded as audio albums. How can those be changed to podcasts?
- When downloading podcasts; if the download is directly from the website I can open a "full featured" podcast window. If the download is off of iTunes Store is shows up as an album.
For reference, I'm using a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.6.8.
TIA!

Hello and welcome to Interact!
The JRiver office is closed until January 2nd, at which time more help will be available.
When you say "MC loads from iTunes", do you mean the regular Media Center media import function or are you importing a playlist of some sort? As far as the podcasts, can you provide a sample podcast link and describe the problem with it?
Thanks.

Thanks John T.
I am talking about when MC is first opening and the initial media import from iTunes.
Still getting double loads in some albums.
This is what I get when downloading using iTunes from the iTunes Store.
Users/apple/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Podcasts/The Alton Browncast/Lucky Yates.mp3
This was downloaded, using MC, from the Alton Brown podcasts section of Nerdist.com.
Users/apple/Music/Podcast/Alton Browncast/2013-12-27 Lucky Yates.mp3
Today when I turned on MC it looks like both Music/Podcast and the iTunes Media/Podcast sections are being read in the album section of MC.

For the duplicate problem, you might check that you don't in fact have duplicates in your iTunes media files. I use Reveal (Cmd-shift-R) to go to the file in the Finder, and usually the duplicate is nearby.

MC has a number of useful tools available to assist with finding duplicates. Review the following threads (which are for the Windows version of MC, but the same stuff applies to the Mac version) and ask if you have further questions:
