Title: Freezing stuttering when using WASAPI? New problem, no hardware changes
Post by: NorCalJason on December 29, 2013, 02:10:20 pm
Running current version of MC18, 212.

Windows 7, i7 870 processor, ATI 4890 Video Card, Xmeridian 2G Audio Card.

I've had this setup for a while now, and this problem just started popping up.

While playing a video or movie (usually MKV) the screen will begin to stutter after a few minutes, audio drops out, MC18 becomes unresponsive.  I can get to the desktop, close the program and relaunch.  Only to the same issues in a few minutes.

I never had this problem on earlier versions of MC18.  I have not changed any hardware or drivers.

If I select different audio output modes (other than WASAPI), the problem goes away.

What's going on?

Thank you Jim.  I'll switch the audio back to WASAPI and try to duplicate the problem with my antivirus (Windows Essentials) off.
