Title: Cannot play YouTube videos in Theater View
Post by: lakebilly on December 29, 2013, 08:04:10 pm
When I attempt to play a YouTube video from within Theater View, I get the windows rotating icon for several minutes.  In general, I have to force Media Center to shut down and then restart it.  Occasionally, if I wait long enough, (five minutes) the video will finally play.

I've tried doing a complete uninstall and re-installing.  Running 19.0.100.
I've updated the video card driver.
If I download the same YouTube video, it will play from within Media Center.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Well, here is what I found.

Under: Tools Options File types

MP4 must be set to JRiver Video Engine (using direct Directshow filters).  Automatic does not work.

Not sure why this is.  I've been using JRiver for 7 years and never had to change this from Automatic.
