Post by: Nikolay on February 27, 2002, 02:29:20 pm
Here we go,

First Interface plug-in is available on our plug-ins page.

And to sweeten the deal we also published source code for it, visit our Developers' Zone
http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/developers.html

Nikolay

Well... I downloaded it, and it installed. The picture on the page sure looks neat...

But what does it do? How do I use it?

The only evidence I saw that it was even installed was its entry in plugin manager.

'Lil help?

It's a sleep timer.

Put in an amount of time, tell it what to do (like shutdown you computer), choose whether to slowly fade the volume out, and then hit "Sleep".  After the time passes, it'll do whatever you specified.

Maybe I'm the only one nerdy enough to use his computer to put himself to sleep at night though Next Page

Matt, I was surprised to see that the interface plugin was available.

Doof,
On the left side of the screen below Media Library, and Playlists and all the other stuff should now be a Interface Plug-in, and that's where you set the timer and all.

doof,

in addition to what dremo said, I think you have to restart MJ to be able to access it. I had the same problem after installing it....

Matt> This is going to hurt. Next Page

I don't need the sleep timer for this. I just start MJ playing when I go to sleep, and it shuts itself off after an undetermined amount of time. I call it the crash-timer. Next Page

hehe... I'm trying to narrow down what causes that crash. It crashed again on me last night, again with a vis that uses the spectrum analyzer.. oh wait, no it's not, it's the oscilloscope... the one that makes the wavy lines. Next Page

Anyway, it was the oscilloscope, DirectX, 85 FPS, 2.00 scaling.

Today, I started up a really long playlist (259 hours) so I can pinpoint how long it takes before a crash as well. Not sure how helpful it will be...

Nice plugin, only the countdown time is hard to read, not a lot of difference between the dark and bright green.
It works perfect, just what I wanted.

After counting down on and stopping a radio stream pressing the play button shows "Please select file(s) to play". With a locally stored mp3 stopping puts you to the first file of the album.

The Plug-In Information company URL is shown, but the "GO"-button is disabled.

It is kind of neat, I don't know how often I'll use it but it's a bonus feature just the same. I must agree with a couple of the replys that it is too hard to read. There is not enough difference betwwen the dark and the light greens. It would also be nice if you could choose blues or oranges etc.. in a colour scheme for the count down numbers to fit ones themes or the like.
