I had installed the current UNi Xonar 1821 v1.71 r2 driver set & had some weird problems occurring. I could be listening to audio for hours, then suddenly hear a loud crack followed by a barely audible signal - thought the sound card was dying. After trying to set up a loopback diagnostic, had all sorts of issues getting the software to talk to the sound card. Removed the drivers and re-installed UNi Xonar 1815 v1.64 & has been working fine since.
Beware of the current driver set - seems to be quite buggy!
