Hi all,
the Last.fm scrobbler doesn't work on my Media Center 19.0.67 - and it hasn't worked since I installed the programme.
In Tools > Options > Services I chose Last.fm > Connect to Last.fm account.
On the Last.fm website I agree to give Media Center access to my Last.fm account, THEN I press OK in my Media Center, then I check the box "Submit playback information to Last.fm (scrobble)".
In my Last.fm profile there are two active applications attached to the profile: Last.fm scrobbler and JRiver.
And still, it doesn't work.
Would much appreciate if someone could help me with this.

Please install the newest version at the top of the board (104) - does this resolve the issue?
I don't use last fm myself, has it changed its API recently?

It should be working. It is for me.
The only active app I have in my profile is JRiver media software.
You also have 'last.fm scrobbler'. Do you scrobble using any other applications?

I've upgraded my MC to version 19.0.104, but it still won't work:(
I don't really know if Last.fm has changed its API... I just followed the directions in the MC options to connect it to my Last.fm account.

Actually I just downloaded their Last.fm Scrobbler thinking this might help... it didn't. It works for Windows Media Player since Last.fm Scrobbler has official plug-ins for this, but the thing is I want to make Media Center scrobble my music cause I play music only in MC...
I've deleted Last.fm Scrobbler from my Last.fm profile, now there's only JRiver software there, but nothing has changed(

I am running MC 19.0.67 and last.fm scrobbling is working fine for me.
Sorry to ask a simple question here-- did you check off Scrobble 'Listening To' on the player drop down menu?

There are two different options, but they are both tied together. The one you described is accessible from the options screen. The one I describe is accessible from the Playing Now screen of MC19. There is a Player menu item where you can also turn scrobbling on or off. I just confirmed that they are both the same option with different wording though. When you check off one, the other also becomes checked. This should not be the issue.
The only other thing to verify is that you are currently logged into your last.fm account in your browser. Are you deleting cookies in your browser such that the site is no longer aware that you are logged in? See if you can go to http://last.fm to see that you are logged in under your account. If you are not and have to login again, this may be related to the issue (this is just a guess on my part, but it is worth checking). If you are not accepting cookies in your browser, try accepting them followed by deleting your last.fm account info in MC19 then login to last.fm once again to once again to set your last.fm account.

Yes, my Firefox is accepting cookies, I have just logged out of my Last.fm account, removed my last.fm account info in MC19, then logged in again and set the connection to Last.fm in MC again... still no success(
I'm on Windows 7 by the way.

Did you add the username and login in MC's options? It's under Services.

You mean, Tools>Options>Services>Last.fm?
I click on "Manage Last.fm account", then "Display information about 'Saunders20' account".
It says: "Media Center is currently connected to the following Last.fm account:
Username: Saunders20
Subscriber: no"
Saunders20 is my username at Last.fm, so I believe everything is correct here...

I would consider uninstalling the last.fm scrobbler from your PC as well. Media Center does not need it as it scrobbles natively, and I can't help wondering if the other app is getting in the way, even though it has been disconnected from your profile.
There's no question that it works. We just need to figure out where yours has gone adrift.
Couple more questions:
Under "Tools > Options > Services > Last.fm", what do you have under "Configure filter for submission"?
Do other MC internet services work for you? Things like "Get movie / tv info", album art retrieval... that kind of stuff...
Do you have experience using the windows registry editor?
All questions/suggestions thus far are really just shots in the dark, which are frustrating for you when they miss, or just plain make no sense to you. I'm thinking we should reset and start again.

I don't use MC for watching films, so I don't know about that(
But the album art retrieval works - I've just checked: Right click on song name>Cover Art>Get from Internet - works fine.
The option "Get Artist Images from Last.fm" works, too.

Yes, but just the basic things: finding files and deleting them)

I think your submission filter is actually the problem.
The default is for it to say "Artist is not any <empty>" and "Name is not <empty>", so that tracks with no name or artist don't get submitted and cause data pollution.
Somehow the not disappeared on you.
Try changing that back to include the not again?
