Title: Newbie Question about DLNA Play To
Post by: mgreg123 on January 18, 2014, 04:31:11 pm
Hi,
I wanted to know if it’s possible to play to a LaCie Classic HD Media Player, it does use DLNA protocols. The LaCie Media Player is located in a different room and connected to an amplifier with speakers and shows up on the network UDP.

I would to use the JRiver interface to view the music library on the LaCie Media Player and play to its connected amplifier and speakers in that other room.

Any advice or input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Michael G

Each player has it "quirks" but there is no reason it would not work both with "pulling" content from MC's DLNA server or MC pushing content to the device.

Hi Jmone,

Thats Great, because the GUI on the Lacie Media Player is not user friendly. Last question in doing it this way the libary we viewed through J River GUI?

You can use MC and just play to the device instead of locally, or you can use Gizmo (on an android device) as a remote control as well.
