Just re-install the latest build.  There is no need to uninstall.

I posed the question because MC's very own trouble shoot Wiki suggests it. It does not follow up with methodology. May I suggest well executed stickies to remediate exhausting hunt and seek.

Uninstalling from a Mac is almost always as simple as tossing the app to the trash.  The app is really a bundle of files, and tossing this app (bundle) into the trash is the de-installation process.

The wiki entry you may be referring to is likely for Windows, where installations are far more complex and invasive.

Does not work for me. I just posted the same question.  Thumbnails, settings and registration are reinstalled automatically upon downloading new version.

If you have licensed MC, any new install will find the license.  Thumbnails will probably be erased if you clear your library (under File).

Ok, i am licensed.  How do i set all get all settings back to default?  Somehow I lost the ability to get track information when playing through DLNA and to view the coverart album.jpg embedded in the folder.  If I get back to default, I can do the other settings, but right now I have lost the ability to display that infoamtion when using DLNA (Oppo)  and graphics on my tv (they display fine on my iPad, but they are blank on the tv screen)

Thank you.   this worked, i reinstalled, but when i use the DLNA, Tile, artist, album genre are all empty on my tv screen and no cover arrt (they are fine on my iPhone app).   I have Mac mini, Oppo 105 as DLNA and the music and progress bar displays fine, just no info on track!

If you can start a new thread w/your new issues, that would be helpful to all.

Sorry.  I hadn't gotten around to updating the Uninstall/Reinstall section yet.

My plan was (and is) to update that with detailed instructions for both OSX and Windows.  For OSX, it is as simple as dragging it to the trash, though this is typically not necessary (just overwrite it with the new version).  However, I wanted to include instructions for clearing settings and the Library if needed.
