:) ....but I see/hear that my family have occasionally reverted to the "Mark 1 Analogue Intercom"..... 

....Shouting "Dinner", followed by "Comming" (if the music in their rooms is not too loud)!

According to my wife, the vol from the outside audio project (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=87156.0) is loud enough to be heard over the radio playing inside.... so I could just give her one of the wireless mikes.  Of course the entire neighbourhood will know when dinner is ready and I'm likly to have Richard pop around at that point!
