Title: Why does it always tell me the trial period has ended?
Post by: MEB on February 04, 2014, 04:56:52 pm
OK, maybe I am stupid, but having paid for it, and getting it to run, tells me it should run, whenever it starts up. No, it keeps telling me the trial period has ended. And running out of restores.

Someone please steer a blind old coot in the right direction. Thanks.

All I can offer are the obvious ports of call:
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Restoring_a_License (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Restoring_a_License)
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Upgrade_Questions (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Upgrade_Questions)
http://www.jriver.com/purchase.html (http://www.jriver.com/purchase.html)

If it's more involved than that you'll need to call on the real power.

Keep knocking on the door. These kind of questions typically get a quick response..   ;)

The version of MC must match the version of the license.

I am having a similar problem.  I purchased a MC 18 license on April 11, 2013.  I tried to use the software today on my Windows 7 desktop and received a pop-up telling me that: "The trial period has expired."

This has happened on at least one other occasion since I bought the software.  I have my Registration Code and don't mind restoring, but there are apparently a limited number of restores and I do not like using them up on software I already bought.

Can someone possibly explain why these "restore license" prompts appear for licensed users?  Also, is there a way to reactivate one's purchased MC 18 software without burning a 10-per-year restore?  Thanks!

It happens if you use a different version than your license.  Or if you have modified your machine (system name, for example).  Just restore if it happens.

Hi, JimH, okay, will do, thanks.  I downloaded a trial version of MC 19 for Mac onto my MBP during the past 30 days.  Maybe that had something to do with it?
